How To Change Your Life

58 kuukautta sitten

Welcome back.

From social media influencers to the authors of self-help books, the ability to be able to change lives is claimed to be owned by many. Whether it is a scented candle, a magazine article, or a fitness plan, the truth is that nothing can change your life without great amounts of dedication and perseverance on your behalf.

The idea of a changed life often comes from the notion that a perfect life is something to strive for, and something that is eventually attainable. However, regardless of the steps you take to improve your life, perfection will never be a reality. Deep down, the majority of people who see perfection as an ‘end goal’ realize this, yet they hold onto their irrational ideal as they feel lost without subconsciously visualizing perfection as a destination, regardless of their take on life as a journey.

Of course, it is more than possible to change your life, whether that is eating more nutritious foods, managing an illness better, or socializing more. However, I firmly believe that striving for fulfilment is far healthier than striving for perfection.

Perfection as a standard is not only irrational on a personal level, but also is largely harmful to those who are underprivileged. In my opinion, someone who had less ingredients to begin with and made a small meal should be prouder than someone who had many and made one of only a slightly bigger size.

Fulfilment comes from knowing that you put your best foot forward in all that you put your name to, fulfilment comes from falling down and picking yourself back up, and last but not least, fulfilment comes from being patient and honest with yourself and those around you.

I understand that this article may be controversial; feel free to debate in the comments section - but remember to be kind. I love you all; take care,
