Tips for Insomniacs

Hello!

Sleep is very important for the human body. Without sleep, we are unable to function. Sometimes it is hard to sleep, and today's post you will learn a few tips on how to get some shut-eye.

Devices- I recommend turning off all devices (such as phones) an hour before you go to bed. This way, the light from your devices will not be able to affect the amount of sleep you get.

Clocks- If you have a digital clock, you should turn it away from yourself while you fall asleep. If it is on, you'll be staring at the numbers and the light will stop you from getting to bed.

Tea- If you can't sleep, try having a warm cup of herbal tea. This will relax you and help you get a full night's rest. Don't have any caffeine for a few hours before you go to bed.

Books- Before you go to bed, read a book. Make sure it isn't too captivating, because otherwise you might just want to continue reading! I recommend reading a poetry book. This way, you can finish a few poems and won't be on the edge of your seat for how a story ends.

Light- I cannot stress enough about how much light affects your sleep! Make sure your blinds are closed and all of the lights in your room and outside of your room are off. Make sure you are in the dark.

Phone- If you sleep next to your phone, I would try to switch things up a bit. When you can't sleep and your phone is right there, chances are you'll get on it, making it even harder to rest! Put your phone far away from your bed, so you forget about it and don't get up to retrieve it.
