Tips for Making Conversation

89 kuukautta sitten

Have you ever found yourself alone with someone you barely know? Maybe there's a new kid in your class, and you're their partner for a project. Maybe you're having lunch with a coworker you've never really talked before. Maybe it's a family reunion, and you end up sitting next to your mom's sister's brother-in-law's cousin. Awkward!

Making conversation can be hard, but it's the polite thing to do, and who knows - maybe you'll end up friends with the other person, and talking to new people can be easy and even fun!

If you don't want to do the talking, ask some questions. For example, if I met someone at a party and didn't know what to say, I might look for part of their outfit that I like and say, "Wow, I love your ___! Where did you get it?" They answer, then I say something like, "Cool! Do you go there often?" And so it continues!

If you like to be the chatty one, tell a story. Take something cool that happened to you recently: a concert you went to, or even a show you watched on Netflix all weekend, and tell them about it. See if they share your interest, and find a topic you both enjoy talking about!

No matter how open you are to talking, some people won't want to talk. They could be having a rough day, or maybe they just don't want to chat. And if you're the one who doesn't want to talk, that's okay, too. Some of us are more sociable than others; just remember to always be polite, and never do anything you're not comfortable with.

That being said, in the right situation, it's good to try something like this. If I never did that, I wouldn't have all the friends I have to day, on Stardoll and in real life!
