Hello, dolls!

History is one of my favourite sources of inspiration when it comes to makeup looks. Today, I'm inspired by one of my favourite historical figures, Cleopatra VII Philopator, last Pharaoh of Egypt. Ancient Egyptians not only used makeup for decoration but for practical purposes, such as sun-protection. Cleopatra is famous for elaborate kohl, or eyeliner and eyeshadow. 

Start with the biggest black eyeliner possible. Elongate and smudge with black eyeshadow at the end to get a smokier look. Couple with two colors, preferably blue or green, and add extra intensity. The colors don't have to blend at all - just ensure they are big and bright. Couple this look with a nude lip to really feature the eyeshadow, or a red lip for a full bold look!
