It’s finally here, the most anticipated and joyous season of the year, it’s Christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS DOLLIES!!

Along with the festivities of the season, there is the preparation for the New Year, and a common practice for the New Year is making resolutions.
I generally don’t make resolutions, being a huge procrastinator, but it’s the New Year, things could change.

Here are some guidelines I learnt, to make resolutions or goals, or anything you wish to achieve. Just be SMART in making your choices.

Smart is an acronym that means the following, there are different variations to the letters, but this is the one that I know best.

Specific- Be clear and precise in stating what you are trying to achieve, don’t be vague.

Measurable- Make deadlines for when you want something completed. Be honest with your capabilities and choose a realistic date.

Attainable- Make goals that are important and realistic to you, goals that you are willing to put in the effort and time to attaining.

Realistic- You know your capabilities and how you work, make goals that you know that you can achieve, and not so far out of your league. Something that you are willing and able to complete.

Timely- Choose a time frame for when you want to attain your goal, be precise and specific in choosing.
