Who would win in an epic showdown, Edward Cullen or Harry Potter? Sadly, such a battle can only be left to our imaginations (achem, are you listening Stephenie Myer and J.K. Rowling? We see some untapped potential here…). The flicks the two characters star in, though, will go head-to-head this Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards. Twilight: Eclipse and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 are the top movies of the night, scoring eight and six nominations respectively. OK, so Inception is up there too with seven nominations, but our eyes will be focused on Twilight and HP. Or perhaps we mean our eyes will be on the films’ stars, Robert Pattinson and Daniel Radcliffe, who will definitely be looking all spiffy and handsome.

So far, Twilight is in the lead with two more nominations than Harry Potter, but it’s impossible to say who will end the night victorious. They’ll battle over the best kiss, best female performance, best male performance, best fight and, of course, best movie categories. Who do you think should come out ahead? MTV.com polled some celebs, and Hilary Duff and Chord Overstreet from Glee are lovin’ on the vampires, while Camilla Belle and Troian Bellisario from Pretty Little Liars are rooting for the wizards. If you’re a Twihard or a… really big HP fan (is there a term for that?) you better get voting!

Spending time outside in the summer months may be pleasurable, but it’s also exhausting.  Sometimes we just want a fully functioning air conditioner, which is why summer movies are popular.  There are just so many, how can we ever decide what to drop the disposable cash on?  We put together a list of flicks and who to see them with so you can get your buttered popcorn (and cute superhero) fill.

Celine Dion put a twist on menswear when she donned an over-sized, backwards Dior white tux to the Oscars in 1999. Some said she recovered it from the Titanic wreck, while others adored a peak of her seductively bare back. Then again, those who’ve adopted this style include sexy red carpet regulars like Angelina Jolie, Dita Von Teese, and Ashley Olsen. Whether you’re a fan or foe, the androgynous ensemble makes for a flirty conversation starter. Here’s what to consider if you’re going to try the tux trend on for size:

Urban Outfitters necklace (L), tru.che necklace; Photos courtesy of Urban Outfitters and Etsy

The criminal minds behind Urban Outfitters strike again! The publicly traded American company has a knack for counterfeiting ideas from independent and local designers across the nation. Yesterday, a customer notified Chicago-based independent jewelry designer Stevie of imakeshinythings.com that her The World/United States of Love line was replicated and sold in—you guessed it—Urban Outfitters. The line of necklaces features cutouts of states and a heart nestled in the middle. Urban Outfitters is selling similar versions at $19 a piece.

Urban Outfitters has a history of “borrowing” designs. In 2003, Crownfarmer released a white T-shirt with a red Canadian leaf in the middle titled, “Legalize It.” By 2007, Urban Outfitter stack the racks with an inverse version—red T-shirt, white leaf, same title. In 2006, Johnny Cupcakes’ designer Johnny Earle fell victim to his infamous cupcake-dropping planes. Urban Outfitters debuted on its shelves a slightly revised version: instead of cupcakes facing one way (à la Johnny Cupcake original), Urban Outfitter’s Urban Renewal T-shirt had cupcakes facing left and right in a different color palette. In late early 2010, Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Lillian Crowe designed a rib cage necklace only to discover a model knockoff in the latest Urban Outfitters online catalog.

Can someone give Urban Outfitters, Inc. chairman Richard Hayne lessons on Entrepreneurship & Ethics 101?

Whether you watched this season of American Idol or not, you can appreciate that this year’s winner, 17-year-old Scotty McCreery, has got a seriously amazing voice—and an adorable smile to boot. A record-breaking 122.4 million viewers cast votes in favor of the country-crooning season 10 winner, and we are not at all surprised! The North Carolina native has been strumming his guitar since the age of 10 hoping to one day follow in the footsteps of his idols, who include country superstars Josh Turner, Randy Travis, and George Strait.

    Who: Lucy Liu
What: Premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2 at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in California
Wear: Marchesa strapless white dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, a Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit white and red clutch, and Jimmy Choos peep-toe pumps

Taiwanese American beauty Lucy Liu graced the red carpet at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre for the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2. Unlike the slithery look of Viper—the charming snake she voices over—Liu looked heavenly in a strapless white Marchesa frock with light ruffles. Her cascading locks (sans lotus flowers) and Jimmy Choos nude pumps makes her legs look miles long—perfect for a mighty warrior. Co-star Jack Black arrived on the red carpet with an air bound kick and arms in kung-fu stance. Liu would’ve done the same, but she held a white and red Roger Vivier clutch in hand too divine for damage.

Last night New York saw the return of Panic! at the Disco, a duo now after the band split back in 2009. Frontman Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith have evaded the limelight since then, but if you’re expecting the recently emerged pop-laced rock band to perform at half the power, you probably haven’t heard their new junior record Vices & Virtues, which just explodes with the stuff this infectiously upbeat Disco is made of and known for.

Armed with the kind of tracks that top charts (download ‘The Ballad of Mona Lisa’) and already sold-out shows, Urie and Smith are re-energized and ready to bring P!ATD back in new and improved ways. Before their show at Terminal 5, I sat down with the Ray-Ban and Converse-clad gentlemen (who have eschewed the circa-2005 eye makeup) to discuss their first album as a twosome, why just being a “big artist” won’t sell the tickets, size 48 Gucci outfits, and their off-duty dressing habits (includes onesies).

Fashion houses like 3.1 Phillip Lim and Lanvin put a twist on the spring 2011 runways—literally! These braids aren’t for little girls: 3.1 Phillip Lim used a ying yang-inspired theme to combine both black and white, and Lanvin…well, Alber Elbaz just took interwoven jewelry to the next level.

There’s nothing like a cutting-edge print to initiate some of the craziest trends we’ve seen in a while. Trends are often based off of the unique print of the fabric themselves, which makes prints lots of fun to play with and mix-and-match.

What can we say—gingers are so hot right now. With Disney’s newest flick Lemonade Mouth debuting on DVD today (win it here!), we couldn’t be more excited to spotlight 18-year-old actor-slash-songwriter Adam Hicks, who plays Wen in the movie. Hicks dishes on rapping (obvi), high school, and the coolest date he’s been on, which is actually pretty awesome (we took notes). Check out our Q&A below!
