Shades of Red
Red has been a recurring staple color on the catwalks, with statement pieces present at Givenchy, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs and Bottega Vaneta. For this post, I have styled some of my favorite red pieces!
For my first outfits, I went for a subtle way of incorporating red. I kept the first outfit monochromatic, with the white t-shirt and trainers, classic pants and leather jacket and accessories. I then used red as an accent color, with the striped handbag and graphic detail on the t-shirt. The second outfit is definitely what I would normally go for, and is inspired by streetwear. I styled these super-cool red camouflage pants with a slouchy puffer jacket, chunky boots, a ringer tee and red beret. Instead of the puffer jacket, you could try this look with an oversized black or red sweatshirt worn over a white turtleneck.
With my next outfit, I chose statement pieces such as the red puffer jacket and Balenciaga pantashoes. I then styled them with the graphic t-shirt, which works perfectly as it adds red to the outfit without being a solid block color. I accessorized with the bright blue Chanel bag to add a different pop of color. I love how well red works with the other primary colors (blue and yellow), and it is my go-to when styling block colors. For my final outfit, I styled these statement pants with a simple turtleneck and trainers, adding red accessories to match the red stripe detail running down the pant. You could complete this look with a matching blazer worn over the shoulders, or even the red puffer jacket!
