Inspiring Females - part 1

hace 91 meses

Hi dollies!

I was talking with my friends today about inspiring women from historical times and modern times. We were talking about lots of different women and this inspired me to write this two part post.

Here are some inspiring females from the past:

- Rosa Parks - Civil rights activist, most known for refusing to give up a seat for a white man.

Sacajawea - Helped the Lewis and Clark Expedition achieve its mission exploring the Louisiana Territory

- Frida Kahlo - Drew self-portraits and was prominent in Mexico due to her resilience and truthful paintings.

- Marie Curie - Scientist who discovered radium and polonuim. First woman to win a Nobel Prize.

- Anne Frank - Wrote about her experiences in WW2 and in camps.

- Emmeline Pankhurst - leader of the suffragette movement and achieved womens' right to vote

- Florence Nightingale - 'Lady of the Lamp', founder of modern nursing and helped soldiers in the Crimean War

- Bronte sisters - Sisters who between them wrote very successful books and changed literature and women in literature forever.

Amelia Earhart - First woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean

- Coco Chanel - Changed the fashion industry forever, made typical mens' clothing into womens' clothing and challenged gender norms.

I look up to all these women from so many different backgrounds. They are all strong, powerful and amazing women. There are so many others too.

Who is your favourite female?
