Proportions of the Face

hace 97 meses

There have been a lot of studies done over the years about the human face. More specifically, its proportions - where everything is located in relation to everything else. When you're editing your doll in the Beauty Parlour, or sketching a face, or just looking at yourself in the mirror, see if you can spot some of these characteristics:

Eyes - The eyes are generally located right in the middle of the face, in line with where the top of your ear meets the head. Your eyes set the stage for the rest of your face, like:

Eyebrows - If your eyebrows continued stretching outward, they'd probably end up pretty close to the top of your ear at the head. As they are, if you drew a line from the left corner of your nose to the outer corner of your left eye, that line would continue and meet up with the outer edge of your left eyebrow!

Nose - Your nose generally ends along the same line that your ears end on. It goes right in the centre, the line of symmetry that the rest of your face follows.

Mouth - The centre of your mouth is pretty much always at the halfway point between your nose and your chin, right at the jawline.

It's pretty cool how faces have these predetermined proportions! Remember, these may be seen as the standards of 'beauty', but you and your doll look great no matter how your face looks! Everyone is unique and wonderful in their own way, and you should love yourself no matter what. ♥

What do you think of the proportions of the face?

Til next time!
