Another bit of news has just popped out of haute couture week in Paris—Roland Mouret’s been named the new Creative Director of Robert Clergerie. Mouret’s the first designer to helm the accessories brand after its founder, Clergerie, and says he’s looking forward to being “part of the special relationship that women have with their shoes.” Given Mouret’s mastery of the female form—and obvious love of women—we’re surprised its taken him this long to tackle a shoe collection. The British designer’s known for fierce tailoring in a very feminine style and though Clergerie may not be known for 6″ stilettos we imagine Mouret will drive the brand in that direction. The Maison isn’t quite a household name in the States, and without a strong fashion identity it’s nearly a blank slate for Mouret. While he exercises his creative freedom the brand will attract plenty of attention from the fashion world. Clergerie said in a release, “I’m delighted to see Roland Mouret at the head of the creation of the Maison that I created. It is a great symbol to see such perspectives, with a talent who already knows and loves our company.”

This season’s Brian Atwood pumps for less than $100. Tory Burch clutches for a fraction of the designer’s price. DVF dresses for only a couple week’s allowance. It all sounds way, way too good to be true. Well, that’s probably because it is (sadly). Designer rip-offs, knock-offs, fakes—whatever you want to call them—have become all too common. And although we love a good deal, we simply can’t get behind shelling out our cash to a fashion copycat who wants to make bank on somebody else’s creativity. eBay has teamed up with the CFDA to send out a similar message: You Can’t Fake Fashion. Starting Monday, the online auction megasite will be selling totes bearing the tagline for $35, along with limited-edition, specially customized bags from 50 CFDA designers for $135. ELLE.com got an exclusive sneak-peek at the Diane Von Furstenburg creation above, and we can’t wait to see what the other designers—including The Row, Badgley Mischka, Tory Burch, Jason Wu and Marchesa—offer up. One of the bags might be a bit of a pricey investment, but it’s a steal- and a completely legal one- considering who they’re designed by. Plus, all proceeds will benefit the CFDA foundation. Visit eBay’s Fashion Vault on Monday to check out the selection.

- Finally, the moment we have all been waiting for! Nicole Richie giving style tips on TV! Midst the pre-production of super model Elle Macpherson's new stylish reality show where 12 contestants will fight for the chance to bring their clothing designs to retail stores, it has been confirmed that Nicole Richie will be joining Jessica Simpson in the panel of judges! Quite frankly, it was probably needed. We have nothing against Jessica Simpson and we know that she owns her own multi million clothing label and all, but her sense of style is just not, to put it nicely, quite there. Either way, we think Nicole will really bring the show to the next level!

Who is Fearne Cotton, and why didn’t we know about her earlier? The girl has got some serious style chops—she designed her own line for U.K. department store Very—but she gained fame by hosting popular British TV program Top of the Pops (their version of TRL). She’s since made the switch to radio, DJ-ing for BBC, but that doesn’t mean her face has disappeared from view. Brit paparazzi love to snap her as she leaves the radio station each day because she never fails to look both trendy and stylish, like in this comfy but cute maxi-skirt and cotton-tee get-up. Like British it-girls Kate Moss and Alexa Chung before her, Fearne Cotton has taken the English fashion world by storm—and don’t be surprised if she soon does the same stateside. Recreate Fearne’s easy, comfortable style with these finds:

- Sure, we all love to roll the windows down, blast music, and sing at the top of our lungs with friends in the car. But all that happiness flies right out the window when the gas light comes on, and we’ve got to reach for our wallets. Nobody wants to spend their hard-earned summer cash on gas money. It’s time to take on biking or longboarding! Why not—they’re both great ways to stay in shape and, with the right gear, look pretty cool. Save up for one of these bad boys, and really feel the wind in your hair.

There’s nothing easier than waking up in the morning, throwing on your favorite graphic tee, shades with bag in hand, and heading out the door. The graphic tee is comfort’s coolest friend. We all have at least two over-sized, off the shoulder, slouchy tees that year after year seem to creep back into the front of our wardrobe. Come on, you know the shirt I’m talking about. Check out a few of our faves and while we’re at it, why not learn how to make a graphic tee on your own. It’s the perfect way to spend a rainy summer day (or any rainy day for that matter).

- News surfaced this past week that Chord Overstreet would not have his contract renewed for a third season of the popular hit show Glee. Chord took to his Twitter to comment on the news, declaring them as "too bad" but added that summer is a time for fresh starts... And he is starting fresh alright!
Yesterday, he was spotted shopping in London's trendy Nottin Hill Gate area together with Julia Robert's niece Emma Roberts! The two of them have been linked together since April, but this is the first time they have actually been spotted out in public. They make a pretty cute couple, right?

- Lately it’s as if fashion’s in a stage where the most seemingly offensive combos are, well, the most appealing and surprisingly refreshing: fanny packs, feathers, cracked nail polish. The initial “what the h-e-double hockey sticks” moment passes, and we find ourselves inevitably embracing all that is unique…and odd. Human hair glasses, barbie-doll head necklaces, my little punk pony…wait, rewind. Don’t worry—our eyebrows are still raised at that list too. But that doesn’t stop us from letting you decide whether or not these things are a fashion do, or a fashion dump. Let the wackiness ensue.
Human Hair Glasses
After we got over the shock value that the words “human hair” and “glasses” have together, we realized the frames themselves are pretty trendy and actually super cool. Woven with human hair, the glasses are 100% biodegradable, but we all know finding someone else’s hair on you is never pleasant. Would you ever be able to get over that fear and rock these shades? Learn about the collection here.

Last night Azzedine Alaïa debuted his first couture collection—in fact, it’s the first time the designer’s shown anything on the official fashion calendar in over eight years. Though he usually stages small presentations in his atelier when he feels like it, Alaïa presented a proper collection on an all white runway for a teeny tiny audience including France’s Minister of Culture, Frederic Mitterand. Vanessa Friedman writes that the collection of impeccable wool coats and zipped up gowns elevates Alaïa from fashion’s favorite designer to “national treasure” and Suzy Menkes says, “The collection was less about silhouette than about how much was packed between the tracery of lines: tufts like errant weeds on the woolen surface of a skirt; tiny craters woven into a coat at the hipline; textures that included dense curly fur or gleaming crocodile. At the end of the show came a latticework dress where suede, velvet and silken ribbons were fused artfully together.” Following Alaïa’s ten minute standing ovation Mitterand said, “Designers all have a world—but Alaïa has a universe.” Click here to see the rest of couture.
