At last night’s New York premiere of Mildred Pierce, the HBO miniseries debuting next week, Kate Winslet wore Stella McCartney’s fall collection—the one that hit the runway of the Paris Opera two weeks ago and won’t hit stores until maybe July, probably August. Of course, it looked fantastic. Her new pixie cut was gently waved and pulled back, as if even it would detract from the sheer polka dotted panel running down Winslet’s side, but what we really want to know is, is this the same dress Natasha Poly wore down the runway? It’s longer on Winslet than it was on Poly, which points to yes, but as svelte as the actress is, she’s curvier than the Russian model (thank goodness) and it fits her like a glove. Do you think Stella made it special? Or it hopped from the runway into Winslet’s suitcase?

Despite a picture-perfect pixie cut and porcelain, childlike features, Mia Wasikowska is no pushover. The breakout star of 2010 took on memorable roles in Alice in Wonderland and The Kids Are All Right, and is currently on the big screen playing the uncompromising heroine of Jane Eyre. Wasikowska’s sartorial selections are just as bold, with youthful, futuristic looks by Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, and Burberry as perpetual favorites. Set to star in Gus Van Sant’s hotly anticipated Restless, it looks like she’ll be striking a pose for a long time to come. Check out some of our favorite looks after the jump!

Lacoste, Imaxtree Stemming from the menswear and tuxedo trends, a fringe trend that has popped up is the ladies necktie or bow tie. As a trompe l’oeil on the Lacoste runways or as a nod to the ascot at Moschino, this trend has mainly been seen on the red carpet as an androgynous suited look, or as the trademark style of the man repeller. While some of you might remember the neckties that Avril Lavigne wore in the early 2000s, the new necktie look is crisp and sleek in black and white as an androgynous look, or dapper when paired with feminine nudes and ruffles.

From the swarm of street style photos that emerged on blogs and websites during Fashion month, it seems that the designers, models, and bloggers of the fashion world may be our latest celebrities, making street style photographers the latest aggressive paparazzi. The “bloggers walk” at fashion shows has become a complete madhouse as the dozens of photographers try and get the best shot of fashion set going to and coming from the shows. So why the sudden ubiquity and aggressiveness of these photographers? Imran Amed of Business of Fashion says, ”several street style bloggers told me confidentially that the competition is extremely fierce for getting the best photographs, which can then be sold on to global editions of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar each for as little as $200, but up to $1000 or more.” As the demand for fashion gets higher, the fashion world becomes more exclusive with fewer seats at runway shows, limited edition products, and invitation only events. What do you think? Are street style photographers our new paparazz

- Ever wondered just how crazy Lady Gaga's beauty routine mustn't be? Well think again! In a recent interview with People Magazine, the pop icon revealed that her beauty routine actually is pretty normal! The last thing she does before bed is brush her teeth, her beauty influences are her mother Cynthia Germanotta and Princess Diana and she only ever wash her face with Ivory Soap by her mother's recommendation. She says she does however have a dirty habit of going to bed with her make up on every night, but that she can get away with it because she has good genes. She also admits to always carrying sunblock with her since she doesn't like tanning her face because it's bad for wrinkles. Her most important beauty tip of them all however, is to never try and be someone you're not, because it's boring. So if you're looking to change things up, she recommends that you skip the mascara and fake lashes and only use eye-liner, because it's more modern. Sounds like surprisingly solid tips Gaga!
