Why MSW?

*Disclaimer: This post will trigger someone*

Hey everyone,

It's that time of year. MSW is here and full of cheer. In the past, I would be frantically clicking from suite to suite, opening 30 tabs at a time, and leaving as many personalized messages as I could in everyone's suite. This year: not so much.

I ran for MSW 3 years in a row. The first year, I made the semi-finals. The second year, I came in 9th overall. The third year, I came in 17th overall. Now, I'm not running at all.

        But... why?

Some of you have probably been in the same boat as me. You spammed, you changed tactic and tried making it more personal, making friends, broadcasting, talking to people in clubs and chats, the whole shebang. You were in it to win it, to raise awareness or represent a section of Stardoll or something equally transcendent. You tried over and over and over and just ended up dedicating too much time and effort to frustrating yourself, frustrating others, and making a mess out of everything.

        I understand completely.

I wish I had the time and mental capacity to devote a month of my time to running for MSW, but the truth is, I just don't. I'm a nursing major in college juggling my time between hospital rotations and philosophy classes that make literally zero sense to me. MSW isn't that important when you think about life in the long run, and life is all about priorities and spending your time effectively.

Over the past two years, I devoted hours and hours to MSW, writing in 2000 guestbooks daily to raise awareness about the "golden girl" or "green alien" who was running for MSW. I stressed myself out, and towards the end of the process I was burnt out and fed up, without the results I had hoped for.

What I'm trying to say is this: this is your decision. If you want to put in that effort, go for it, and shine as bright as you can. If not, don't beat yourself up. At the end of the day, this is your life, and your decisions. Decide what's important to you, and follow your inner compass.
