Why We Wanted To Become Starbloggers

I get asked all the time how I started blogging and why I wanted to become a StarBlogger, so It got me wondering if my story is at all similar to my fellow StarBlog Team members. Before moving this on to my fellow team-members, I will tell you all a little about my story.

When I first joined Stardoll in 2012, I was only about 14 years old. I was still trying to understand what I wanted to be, what hobbies I was into, who my friend group consisted of, my likes and distlikes, etc. At that age, you're still trying to find yourself. Stardoll was a big part of me finding out who I was.

Through Stardoll, I found my love for writing. It wasn't until probably about 2015 that I really became passionate about writing and wanted it to be heard by the StarBlog community. I became obsessed with reading the StarBlog every day I came online, and I really looked up to the StarBloggers that were on the team at the time.

One person at the time who really helped me get started was Waddles, who was a StarBlogger at the time. He was so open to helping me perfect my posts and giving me advice on how to better my quality of writing. One thing I really took from him was finding a topic I was passionate about and sticking with it. That way, my posts seem somewhat consistant.

I'm very thankful for his advice because if it wasn't for his constant support, I wouldn't be where I am today. I wrote consistantly in my blog for 2 1/2 years before being accepted onto the StarBlog Team. I was fortunate for those years of applying because it helped me to improve my blogs and also made me realize how badly I really wanted to be a part of the team. I will never forget the day I got my acceptance letter!

Now, enough about me. Here's what my fellow team-members had to say about why they wanted to be part of the team!

Ntoreta1964Cool (now imweirdo): Writing is a talent I inherited from my mother, who is reporter. Specifically, I discovered that I have talent in writing in high school. I liked reading a lot of books and I took part in a literature contest that I placed third. That's how I started to develop this talent. Since then I have been writing essays, poems, and now I am writing my own novel. But all this I did for myself, I was writing for myself. In StarBlog, I write for readers. When I saw that the game gives us this possibility, I realized that there were some issues that I could discuss with others through my articles, my views and my readers' views.

AllDolledUp: Becoming a Starblogger was a goal of mine for years, and it has helped me open up to criticism from an online audience in terms of my writing. Before that, I only ever shared my writing through contests at school, blogging online, and writing short stories. Ever since I learned English as a 2nd language many years ago, I knew I wanted to be published one day. I am a very visual person as well, so it's only natural storytelling would be my favorite form of visual, oral and written communication. It wasn't until I began studying French as a third language, that I realized I had a true knack for words, linguistics and writing in general. I am now aware; I have a lot to offer due to my proactive learning and genuine curiosity. Being passionate helps me grow, and being able to reach an audience to share my thoughts, and what I am passionate about is truly one of the things I enjoy most about writing and becoming a StarBlogger.
