Making Conversation, Part 2!
Hey dolls! After publishing the original Tips for Making Conversation blog and hearing from some of you, I've decided that I might as well type up some tips for chatting on Stardoll! Whether you're in a chat room or talking one-on-one with a friend, there's some etiquette that will help you to have fun, interesting, and appropriate conversations!
First, make sure the doll you're talking to wants to talk. If you're in a chat room, it's probably safe to assume that everyone is there to, well, chat. But before messaging someone privately, check in their presentation for subtle hints such as: "Please no chat" or "I don't reply on chat".
Once you're in the conversation, stay away from the easy questions, like "how are you?" These often lead to one-word answers and dead ends. Try a fun, imaginative question, like "If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?" or "What do you want to do in the future?" When in doubt, a genuine compliment is always good, too!
Always remember to be appropriate and follow the One-Stop Rules. Never ask for or give out personal information, and don't be rude or discriminatory. That's no way to make friends! If the person you're chatting with makes you uncomfortable, ask them to stop, and block and report them if necessary.
In a way, chatting online is easier than chatting in real life. You can think before speaking, and never join a conversation unless you really want to. Stay safe, and happy chatting!
Til next time!
Kat ♥
