Never be Under or Over-dressed

One of the worst things about attending events without a dress code is closing what to wear. How can you make sure that you don’t look too formal and too casual at the same time?

This is almost impossible to get right, but I have a few tips on how you can save yourself the embarrassment.

1. Have a friend with you who agrees to dress as you do. If you both decide to dress completely casual or formal together, you won’t look too out of place.

2. Skinny jeans and heels. Not only will this combination make your legs look slender and beautiful, it's the perfect blend of both casual and formal that will work for any occasion.

3. Add a tailored blazer to your basics casualwear. This will make you appear much more put together, nailing the smart casual look. And if you feel too formal later on you can simply just take it off, easy!

4. Natural glam makeup is a much safer option - I would avoid anything too bold or heavy like a red lip or glitter. Although beautiful, they could look out of place for an informal event.

5. Carrying a pair of backup heels for if you arrive and realise that the event was more formal than you realised. A pair of simple black pumps will always do the trick, and they'll make all the difference to your outfit!
