Ethical Fashion
Ethical fashion is a broad term of items which have been designed, produced, retailed and sold morally. The ethical fashion industry exists to stop issues such as poor working conditions and exploitation. The ethical industry aims for fair trade, environmental care, sustainable production and the welfare of animals.
How can I shop ethically?
Educate yourself and research!
It's important to understand the consequences of your actions before you make them, so checking out whether your clothes are ethical is important! There are also many other products beside fashion which are sold unethically, such as food. Fortunately there are a few apps which scan bar-codes and check whether or not your food is ethical!
Be wary and economical!
What I mean by this is, understand that many companies use their advertising campaigns to trick you into thinking their products are ethical, make sure to question every brand. The economical side is asking you to not just wear clothes for a short period and then dump them, instead donate them, re-use or recycle!
The next time you shop, take some time to save our planet and save our future!
