Cynthia Rowley’s collaborating with Band-Aid on designer bandages. Some will be sequined, others will be covered in images of runway models, and a box will set you back about $4 when they hit stores in time for the holidays. But first, they’ll preview them for Fashion’s Night Out. And throughout New York fashion week, Johnson & Johnson will sponsor “a traveling Glambulance to roam the NYC streets rescuing fashion emergencies, fully equipped with a hair stylist, make-up artist and fashionable First-Aid supplies.” There’s a joke in there about Nelly’s influence finally being felt in the fashion sphere…

As rumors about Marc Jacobs’ potential move to Christian Dior heat up, this quote from Robert Duffy, who spoke to the Wall Street Journal last week, is being heralded as proof of LVMH’s intentions by the Internet. We have a feeling Duffy would’ve said this about Jacobs anyway, but it sure is fun adding fuel to the fire!

The Telegraph is reporting that the record breaking Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition may tour after all. By the time the Met closed the exhibit two weeks ago, it had shattered museum records with over 650,000 visitors, lines snaking through the park and after-hours tickets selling for over $100. The exhibition, which started with pieces from McQueen’s graduate Central St. Martin’s collection and followed his career through Givenchy and his unfinished, posthumously released AW11 collection, was conceived and curated with the Met in mind—just one of the many reasons given for the decision to not take the exhibition on tour. But now the brand has released a statement saying they’re reconsidering, “Alexander McQueen appreciates the huge amount of interest the public has shown towards the Savage Beauty exhibition. We have been in discussion with a number of major venues in London for some time now however nothing has been finalised. Please be assured that an official announcement will be made the moment we confirm our plans for London.” Their statement sounds promising, like they won’t stop trying until they make something happen. So if you were crazy enough to miss it this summer, you may be in luck after all!

- This past weekend was definitely crazy…between the looming threat of the hurricane plus the duties of the show, there was a lot to think about. I retreated back to CT where I thought I would be safer than the island of Manhattan and set up shop there. This turned out to be a not-so-hot idea: my friends that stayed in NYC had no problem and things ended up being a lot more severe in CT with loss of power, and roads and trains closed down! Luckily, overall the storm was a lot better than most people predicted.

Prom is one of the few school-sponsored activities we look forward to not for weeks or months, but for years. And we’re bound to remember it for years, too: the endless photo-taking all but guarantees it. The Disney movie Prom follows a group of high-schoolers and the drama, excitement, and nerves that lead up to the big night. For Lucas, played by the singing, dancing, crush-worthy Nolan Sotillo, the approaching event is particularly nerve-wracking. He has a mega-crush on Simone, but can’t seem to work up the confidence to ask her to go with him. We chatted with Nolan about how nervous he gets in real life about asking girls out, his on-set best friends, and where we can look forward to seeing him next.

While prom’s a night when an ordinary girl slips on an elegant gown, it’s actually not that simple. Prom means so much more than the dress. It’s the flowers, the hair, the makeup, and the date. It’s that last hurrah before you finish your life as a high schooler and move onto an adult-like life (well, as adult-like as college can be, anyway). So when Disney released Prom this year, thousands of girls tuned in to see their dreams portrayed on-screen. We were lucky enough to chat with Yin Chang, the young star who plays Mei, a senior torn between her boyfriend and her ideal college. Yin gave us the nitty-gritty about her high school experience (including her own prom), her advice for teen girls, and how waiting for the right guy is better than floating from boy to boy.

We spent the morning wondering why Baz Luhrmann’s shooting The Great Gatsby in Australia. For a story so steeped in East Coast culture they sure are a long way from home. Now there’s even more Aussie news—apparently, Gemma Ward’s been cast in a “significant” role in the film. Sydney’s Herald Sun is reporting that Ward’s join the cast just in time for shooting, which starts next week. The rest of the cast is, of course, the much discussed Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and Isla Fisher, so the really significant roles have already been cast and other than extras at the party there aren’t any huge roles outside of the five main characters. The movie isn’t listed on Ward’s IMDB page, and Ward isn’t listed on the film’s. If it is true, the fashion world will have to wait even longer for that long-awaited editorial comeback.

Beyoncé was the first pop-star to adopt an alter-ego, and who doesn’t want to follow in Bey’s footsteps? When I am…Sasha Fierce came out three years ago she released a statement saying, “I have someone else that takes over when it’s time for me to work and when I’m on stage, this alter ego that I’ve created that kind of protects me and who I really am.” Fierce brought the world “Single Ladies,” and “Irreplaceable,” so no one really cared whether they were watching Beyoncé or Sasha, especially since the qualities attributed to the latter—”fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken and more glamorous”—applied to Beyoncé, too. But now, other stars are giving birth to very different, very male alter-egos. Lady Gaga has Jo Calderone. Her male dopplegänger first popped up in a fashion editorial and then opened last night’s VMAs with a performance of her latest single “Yoü and I.” Then, after Nicki Minaj won a Moon Man for Best Hip Hop Video she ran backstage and said, “The new album is going to have a lot of Roman on it,” she said. Roman? “He’s a boy who lives inside of me. He’s a lunatic. And he’s gay.” You’ve actually met him before, he sort of sang “Roman’s Revenge” on Nicki’s debut album, Pink Friday, apparently just a taste of what’s to come. So who do you think is next? Will fall bring Taylor Swift’s gun-slinging, tobacco-chewing alter-ego or Kanye’s tutu-wearing inner ballerina?

- We are only two weeks away from fashion week, and things are definitely starting to get a little crazy. It’s especially crazy with the deadlines for production orders coming up in addition to getting everything in place for the show and the Spring ’12 samples. I have literally made the production office my home, and I just camped out there so I could run out and get things as they are needed. Luckily, they have Wi-Fi so I was able to keep up on emails and show info in between running around midtown. That night we had a going away party for one of our summer interns who’s heading back to school, which makes reality hit that the summer’s actually coming to an end. I really can’t believe how much it has flown by; when we started getting ready for the show at the beginning of June it seemed like we had all the time in the world, and now we are only two weeks away…ekkk!! That said, with all the work we still have to do for our show, we didn’t want all of Molly’s (our intern) hard work to go unnoticed and wanted to throw a small get together in her appreciation.
