Happy Black History Month!
Today I remain moved by the wonderful influence the African American community has had on our planet. I cannot imagine ever living in a life with slavery, only racists, and such hatred toward human beings. Perhaps this is why I am so interested in learning more about my own American culture & civil rights. It's a beautiful thing to see America go from slavery to electing the first African American president!
I decided to feature a very important figure in black history today, Rosa Parks.I don't mean to get all "educational" on you guys, since I know that this is Stardoll & not school. But what I truly hope you do, is understand the amazing message the amazing Rosa Parks spread with the world. What inspires me so much about Rosa Parks is the way she was able to stand up for her beliefs. If you do not know, Rosa Parks was the courageous women whom refused to give up her bus seat to a white person. During the time Rosa was young, any black bus passengers must give up their seats to whites for the back of the bus. Rosa refused, and was later arrested. She sparked a movement that started a boycott of thousands of African Americans & people who did not believe in racism to stop riding the bus, which led to loosing much money for the bus system. Of course there was much more that happened, and information can easily be obtained through research. :)
