Summer Beauty: Nature-Inspired Eyeshadow

vor 157 Monaten

The heat waves of summer mean less clothes, more sunglasses, and a newfound appreciation for anything cold. This season carries in a medley of hot eyeshadow shades we simply can’t get enough of. No worries—we’ve got a shade picked out just for you.

Estee Lauder Limited-Edition Sand and Sea Eye Shadow Palette, Neiman Marcus, $35.

It’s colors like these that make our sea legs wobble. Time to select a summer shadow. We encourage you to take risks with heavily saturated shades, but since you’re highlighting your eyes with these bold hues, we suggest downplaying other features. At least don’t pair hot pink lipstick with teal eyeshadow. The thought of the glare that would cause is enough to stun our eyes.

Light skin: If you find that your skin is fairly pale, like Amanda Seyfried, take heed. It won’t take many applications for eyeshadow to show up on your ivory self.

L’Oreal HiP High Intensity Bright Shadow Duo in Flare, Walgreens, $8.

With these shades, you’ll have a sun setting right on your eyelids. And, being fair, you can use discretion as to whether you want to try out the bright shade or its tone-downed friend on the left.

Medium skin: Megan Fox may be a bombshell, but she’s not overly tan—rather just slightly beating out Seyfried with a skin tone just a shade darker.

Ecstasy Eye Color, bareMinerals, $13.

Hit the white, sandy beaches with a color to match. Wash the color all over your eyelids, taking care to dab a little extra in the corners of the eyes. You’ll look wide awake, so if you’ve got a long day ahead, don’t worry about a lackluster face.

Olive skin: If only we all could have such a great tint to our skin. Our lucky girls with olive skin never fear pastiness and always look like they just stepped from an Amazonian jungle. Sigh.

NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Cleo, Nordstrom, $33.

It may seem like this shadow duo is a bit dark, but the dark, sea foam green shade splashes a hint of summer on your lids. Use the lighter shade to highlight brows and you’ll seem so swank and sumptuous, there’s no way you’ll be forced to walk a plank.

Dark skin: Lucky you! There is no shade on the face of this Earth that dark skinned girls can’t test. We don’t expect you to love them all, but take a crack at going brash because being adventurous (even with eyeshadow) is bound to pay off.

Splash a deep sea blue hue on your eyes for a fresh out of the water look. Your lids will glimmer and glisten like the Pacific, a sublime spray of ocean waves no one will take their eyes off of. Straight from the summer landscapes, our hand-chosen tones are certain to proclaim you’re here for sunny season! You can survive the heat wave with these cool shades. What other summer colors do you love?
