#Pink

Hi Dollies!

I’m here with another campaign, this one by Qunicie! Be sure to check out her presentation for more details. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I was glad to receive some words about this cause from Quincie.

Q) Can you tell us a little about Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

A) Breast cancer awareness month is a yearly campaign that intends to educate people about the importance of early screening, testing and more. This campaign starts on October 1st and ends on October 31st every year. 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer. During BCAM, charities like Breast Cancer Foundation and many more hold marathons, walks, and night walks. They get around 500+ people attending and everyone pays $40 to take part. This is how we fundraise for people fighting breast cancer! Everyone is encouraged to dress up in pink--whether it is a pink tutu or a dress!

Q) What inspired you to start a campaign here on Stardoll?

A)  I was shocked to see that some people didn't even know that it was BCAM and I wanted to share a campaign with people all over the world. We may not know each other but we can definitely take a stand and show support to people struggling or that have had breast cancer.

Q) What are you hoping people will get out of your campaign?

A) I hope people can take away that breast cancer isn't rare! There are so many women out there fighting and we can always show support! Whether it is raising some money for a charity or wearing a pink ribbon to bring awareness, everyone can chip in and help. We need to make this world a better place: a place where we can support others, any gender, any age, any race, anyone!

This is such an important issue because it touches many of our lives. I’ve noticed several other dolls showing their support for those affected by breast cancer too. If you’d like to support this campaign, simply wear some pink on your doll. It can be anything, be creative! You can rock pink hair like Quincie, put on a pink item of clothing, a pink accessory, or even try your hand at designing a ribbon to wear. Show your support to those who deserve it!

Take care,

♡ Joanne
