Today's writing workshop is about writing poems!

Although this may seem like a boring topic, I can asure you that it will be the easiest and the funniest!

You can write poems about anything, but today we are focusing on the rhyming alphabet technique.

Here are my simple tips to making a funny, rhyming poem:

1) Write down the alphabet down the margin of your page. So, that is a line for A then down a line for B etc.

2) Choose any word that you can easily rhyme with e.g. make, tree, snow, cat, kite etc.

3) List all the words that you could rhyme it with down the alphabet.

4) If there aren't any words that rhyme with a letter, leave it blank.

5) Go through your words and see if they have a link to them.

6) Start to write your piece on a new sheet of paper - CHALLENGE - try to use as many words from the rhyming alphabet as it will make your piece really funny.

7) See if you could add anything else to your work linked to that topic with another set of rhymes.

8) If you think of another word that is better, use that one!

I hope you enjoy creating some funny poems as they are really helpful when you are stuck of ideas. It is also a good laugh!
