Cats on Leashes?!
After the release of the new LE, many dolls were confused about why you might put your cat on a leash. Wouldn't cats hate being walked - and aren't they meant to roam by themselves? While many cats do fine never touching a leash in their lives, they are actually practical for some cats.
Dangerous Areas
Some cats have to be kept indoors because they live in places where it is risky for them to go outside. For example, they might live near a lot of busy roads, or the neighbours might keep dogs that are not used to being around cats. It could also be harmful to wildlife to keep cats outside - some places have threatened or endangered animals that cats could chase and harm. These indoor cats can be walked so they can explore and live a full life!Differently Abled Cats
Some cats have medical conditions that makes it very dangerous for them to go outside. Visually impaired cats may not be able to see cars coming, and cats with neurological balance disorders like cerebellar hypoplasia can easily fall from a height if they are allowed to roam outside. Many owners of a differently abled cat like this keep them indoors for safety, but walk them on a leash to keep their minds stimulated and their muscles moving!Walking Your Cat
If you have an indoor cat, you might like to try leash training your cat to bond with them and allow them to experience the outdoors. Ensure you get them a harness for walking (not a collar), and make sure they are used to it before you even attach a leash! Only take your cat outside once they are completely comfortable with the harness and leash, and only walk your cat in a place that is safe for them and the environment!Would you ever consider walking your cat?
