Improving Your Patience

vor 113 Monaten

Patience is the ability to stay cool and collected in a situation where you might become annoyed or angry. This is often really hard to do for a lot of people, because we are all passionate about our opinions and the things we love! Luckily, there are some ways to improve our patience - being quick to anger can result in driving our friends away.

Breathe, and count to ten.
When you are angered by someone's comments, take a few moments to collect your thoughts before replying. You will be much less likely to say something you'll regret, and more likely to start a mature discussion!

Consider the other side of the story.
Our experiences shape our ideas and opinions, and no two people have the same experiences! Try to think how the other person thinks, and consider why they might have a different opinion to you - their point of view deserves to be given a fair hearing, just like your own does.

Conversation getting heated? Turn off the computer.
If your conversation is beginning to turn into a nasty argument, sometimes taking yourself away from the situation to calm down is the best way to handle things. This could mean turning off the computer and going outside, or having a sit by yourself for a bit. Once you have both relaxed a bit, you can continue talking, but without the clouded view that anger provides.

How do you show patience towards others?
