Keep it Simple, Stupid: Minimalist Style

An overarching theme for spring is minimalist style. While this is nothing new (Calvin Klein, Narcisco Rodriguez, and Jil Sander have been doing minimalism for years), the style and philosophy are gaining ground in a time when people are starting to ditch the idea of “more is more” and ask “what is enough?”. The core idea of minimalism is stripping down to the bare essentials. Think quiet, simple, and easy. But enough of the philosophy lecture, how can you translate this trend for your closet?

Skip the leopard print with sequins with acid green. Instead, pick a monochrome or neutral palette and create interest with layering, different textures, and architectural silhouettes, while accessorizing with one or two simple pieces. The best part about this trend is that it makes getting dressed a breeze. Everything matches and no need to fuss with putting together a look, making it perfect for the girl on the go.
