Styling OOTM 2023

12 måneder siden

Back in February Stardoll introduced a new store, OOTM (Outfit of the Month). The store features outfits styled by users and is released on the first Wednesday of every month. For this post, I thought I'd style some of my favorite items from this year's OOTM releases!

I wanted to start with the viral Diesel Fall 2022 belt skirt! My favorite way to style the skirt was with a simple white tank top and a pair of strappy heels. For this outfit, I added an oversized bag in a matching brown distressed leather, dark metal earrings, and some Prada-inspired shield sunglasses. We also got a black version of the skirt, which I would style the same way but swapping the earrings for silver hoops and the bag for a small black one worn on the shoulder. Next, I styled the off-the-shoulder Peter Do coat with a Dior Fall 2000 newspaper dress and some beige strappy heels. To accessorize, I kept it simple with a chunky rhinestone choker and matching sunglasses, but I also love this look with a couple of layered necklaces instead of the choker.

This red Bottega Veneta pouch bag is such a staple piece and works both dressed up or down. I went for a dressier look, with the ruched Schiaparelli dress and some red heels, then accessorized with a silver chain, matching hoops, and a pair of black sunglasses. The next OOTM item is this oversized Balenciaga blazer, which I paired with a white tank top, leather miniskirt, and a pair of strappy heels. For accessories, I went for a red rose choker, some stud earrings and a red clutch bag, but as the look is quite simple you could go with whatever accessories you like - for example, a chunky gold chain choker and hoop earrings, and a black bag with gold hardware. You could also swap the heels for a pair that ties in with the accessories you choose.

Next, I chose this Jean Paul Gaultier dress, which has a trompe l'œil floral body print that was created by the artist Jean-Vincent Simonet. I went for a red pouch bag and platform mules to match with the floral print, but you could pick out another color from the print (e.g.
yellow or baby pink), or a neutral like black, white, or even beige instead. For jewelry, I added a simple gold necklace and these Schiaparelli flower earrings that work perfectly with the dress. For my next outfit, I paired these metallic orange GCDS platform sandals with the Miu Miu Cady mini skirt embellished with crystals and sequins in a matching orange color. I added a cropped white satin shirt for a look referencing an iconic Todd Oldham Spring 1995 runway look, then added some simple gold hoops, a chain necklace and anklet, a pair of 90s-inspired oval sunglasses, and then the white fur Blumarine bag which ties in with the 90s references.

My next outfit was inspired by one worn by Rihanna in May, with the leather trench coat layered with pendant necklaces and paired with a matching leather low-rise mini skirt. For some slouchy boots, I chose this statement pair from Y/Project, from the very first OOTM release. I added the shield sunglasses, some melted-style earrings, and a black bag. My final outfit has a couple of OOTM items- the super baggy Balenciaga jeans and cap, and the Prada heels with silver toe caps. I added a white shirt (a black turtleneck would also work), the oversized Coperni fur, and some silver hoops to tie in with the silver on the heels.
