Books: What's the Drama?

103 måneder siden

Hi all, Alice here!

A post about favourite Disney movies by 2010vampire inspired me to write this post. She wrote about her favourite movies which inspired me to write about something I love-books!

First things first, I'm a bit of a bookworm and I'm proud about it! Most people who don't read always say "why bother going into another world when real-life is the only one that matters?". What they don't realise is that the world we go into teaches us about morals, life and also has some characters whom we just fall in love with!

Lessons like these are imparted on any child who reads a book specifically designed for young children to teach them about how to be a good person, but it doesn't stop as you reach those teenage years. Books such as The Hunger Games and Divergent (my two personal favourites) teach us that if we don't change the way things are, we could end up in a bad situation.

One particular thing I like about the Divergent series is that in the book Allegiant, the main characters learn that categorising people is not the way forward (especially in their situation) which I think reflects into our lives today. Such as things like discrimination, feminism- we need to accept each other for who they are inside and not what they look like on the outside.

Aside from what books teach us, they also have some great action and some characters who we effortlessly fall for like Harry in Harry Potter, Katniss in The Hunger Games and Four in Divergent.

Books aren't just a quirk people might have, they are much more than that; they are for people who thirst for knowledge, a good story and, of course, some great characters!
