Summer can be the best of times, but for our makeup, it can be the worst of times. The best way to avoid the melted-makeup look that’s all too common in the hot, humid heat is to ease up on the liquid foundations and powders. Always using a primer or moisturizer with at least a 15 SPF (ideally use 30 SPF for the summer months), let your face breathe and glow by only applying the lightest and sheerest makeup. When applying eye makeup, whether it’s mascara or liner, be sure to go for waterproof formulas (you never know when you could be caught in a summer thunder storm or take a spontaneous dip in the pool!). And after your day is through, be sure to use oil-free wipes to remove all the sweat, dirt, and oil that’s accumulated on your face during the day.
