Plain Jane?
Practically milliseconds ago, my friend and I were talking, and she mentioned how she couldn't balance casual with OTT (over the top). She felt out of place wearing her high heels to our local supermarket (quite understandably). This got me pondering - and not in an amphibian way.
This is the blog for those who have last-minute plans, for which plain Jane cannot make an appearance. The outfits below are not hideous, and frankly, I'd wear them often. Except they lack flair.
I think it's time to make some CALLSS, and not to the fashion police. Unless it is a crime to like acronyms because then I am guilty as charged. These are the best ways to add interest: Color, Accessories (including bags), Layers/Lace, and Shoes/Socks.
Color and accessories, which tie everything together, are subconsciously done by most people. What some don't realize is that layers can add dimension to a look, and do not have to shift the focus. Then, shoes and socks can either elongate a look (short and sleek socks and high heels) or shorten the legs and look (short or chunky shoes and thick socks).
