Learning Languages

há 60 meses

Welcome back!

Learning languages can be fun and useful, but also extremely challenging. Hopefully these next few tips will give a hand to anyone attempting to master a new means of communication!

Ask for help.

If you’re learning through a teacher, or know anyone who is fluent in the language you’re learning, ask them to give you a hand with something you’re stuck on. Languages are learned better with someone around to help you!

The internet is your tool!

There are several free websites online that will help you in your language learning journey, such as Languages Online and Lingolia, but as well as this you can set your language to what you’re learning on every day sites for extra vocabulary!

Take everything in your own time.

If you’re learning in a classroom atmosphere, or alongside others, things can often get competitive. Remember, everyone learns at their own pace so try not to compare your progress with that of others.

Surround yourself with the language.

If possible, get into TV and films that come from your chosen culture, and maybe look for some native speakers willing to converse online. For example, if I were to be learning French, I could do some research into French media and find some French friends online to expand my knowledge.

How many languages do you know, and which ones would you learn/are you learning?
