Makeup is not cheap, and we all hate having to throw out cosmetics that go off before the expire date. There are a few things you can do to make sure your makeup lasts longer, saving you money.

- Keep it sealed. Make sure you seal your mascara/eyeliner tubes tight after use. This will stop your product from drying out!

- Avoid sunlight and heat. Avoid storing in bathrooms as the humidity can cause bacteria to develop.

- Avoid sharing makeup with others. It is not ideal or hygienic to share makeup with others and could spread eye infections.

- Only buy what you need. Don't buy multiples of the same product unless you know you'll be using them.

- Look after your brushes. Mash them once a month with a small amount of soap and warm water. Oils in the foundation can build up. Leave your brushes to air dry.

-Hot water. Drop your mascara tube into a cup of warm-hot water to loosen any clumps inside.

 -Broken eyeshadow. You can turn this into a DIY nail polish by mixing the color with a clear polish.

-Buy from pumps. With things like liquid foundation, its much better to buy ones that are in pumps. This means that no air gets inside the product and generally lasts much longer than foundation from tubes.
