Studio 54 Glam
Studio 54 was a New York nightclub and celebrity hotspot during the 1970s, with frequent guests such as Cher, Diana Ross, Iman, Pat Cleveland and Bianca Jagger (who infamously arrived on a white horse), to name a few. The fashion was lavish and over-the-top, with go-to pieces including jumpsuits, statement jewelry, flowy dresses and lots of sequins. For this blog post I have styled some Studio 54-inspired outfits.
For my first outfit, I chose a metallic gold jacket and matching jumpsuit with gold glitter. Jumpsuits were a staple as they were easy to wear and dance in! I styled the two pieces with some heels (which you could swap for platforms), a handbag, earrings and headband. With my next outfit, I chose this incredible velvet Gucci gown. This is a perfect Studio 54 piece with the plunging neckline, velvet fabric and leg-split. I accessorized with lots of gold accessories; a gold body chain to accentuate the plunging neckline, some statement earrings and gold chain handbag and heels.
My next outfit was inspired by Bianca Jagger and Cher. An all-white outfit was popular with both during the 70s, whether a flowing dress, pantsuit or jumpsuit. I chose a matching top and pants, but you could add either a fur coat or a blazer with statement shoulders to this outfit. This crossover top is almost identical to one that Cher was spotted in, with hers being a lot more bedazzled. Although Cher kept her outfits minimal, I accessorized with some chandelier earrings and a silver bag. You could add a slinky chain belt. For my final outfit, I chose this metallic jumpsuit! I styled it with a fur stole (you could choose a fur coat instead), door-knocker earrings, a gold cuff and chunky wedges.
