Being Rude Gets You Nowhere

123 måneder siden

Hi everyone! Beatrix here.

Us Starbloggers may have our small quarrels here and there - but there is one thing we can all agree on...rude comments are unnecessary.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Gosh Beatrix, there is a difference between costructive critism and being rude! And believe me, I know it!

This needs to be heard as much as it needs to be said. When you post a rude comment online - you're not cool. It's not funny and it's definitely not how you want the world to see you.

Constructive Critism vs. Rude Comments

These are actual comments I have found on the Starblog articles.

A constructive comment would point out a flaw politely, and then give ways on how to change it.

-"That outfit is cool, but it doesn't quite match. Try some darker colors!"
-"I don't really like these playlists, but I like the effort put into making them."
-"I like P!ATD, Fall Out Boy, and Bastille, but next time can you add some Imagine Dragons in?"
-"This article is good, but there are a few grammatical errors that can be easily fixed."

A rude comment would be a statement that has no benefical purpose to be served, and is only meant to shame/hurt the writer.

-"*inserts the you tried star*"
-"Those eyebrows are ugly."
-"....no, just no."
-"Hahaha that look-a-like is sooo bad. I did my Lorde doll awhile ago and it was so much better."

DID YOU KNOW: Starbloggers (or anyone, for that matter!) aren't just words on a screen! They're real people with real emotions - and having a lot of viewers doesn't excuse them from feeling hurt.
