One tiara three outfits
Hello, my loves!
So recently, we had this new beautiful, glittery addition to our closets - Queen Alexandra's Kokoshnik tiara. So one of the first things I decided to do (other than actually wearing it straight away), was to make a few outfits. And so I did. In the meantime, I thought it would be nice to do some new ones and show them to you. I did 3 outfits inspired by 3 of my favorite queens but with my usual personal touches. We begin with the most obvious one, inspired by Queen Elizabeth II, more specificaly in the '80s. Ruffles were a popular trend back then and Queen Lizzy wasn't a stranger to it.
I chose the late Princess Diana's wedding dress not only because she actually married in the '80s, but the puffy sleeves and the ruffles scream '80s fashion! Puffy sleeves were another popular trend, especially among royals. I kept it simple (for an '80s perspective, that is). And because I already dress my doll in '80s royal fashion, you might not see much difference here from my usual outfits. As always, everything has to match for me, so all the jewels look great together. The tiara is simple. Round diamond everywhere. The choker is even more simple with a few rows of single diamonds, a great match for the earrings which have an interlocking-diamond design, making them just right: not bad, not perfect, but right. I wish we had more white diamond earring options. a simple diamond stud with a smaller diamond on top of it would be a timeless classic that whould make everything tie together. I then chose a nice vintage clutch that matches the dress beautifully. And of course we can't forget the sash. It is mandatory in white tie outfits; they elevate a simple look to regal level. You look at the whole outfit and in your mind the word "queen" instantly appears.
For my next outfit I inspired myself in Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, who is funnily enough, one of Queen Elizabeth II's many cousins.
What I love about Queen Margrethe is how creative she is. She has stated in the past that she actually designs and sews many of her gowns and clothes. She has a very particular taste, often chosing giant ruffles and layers and puffy skirts with a lot of fabric. I chose this simple dress and took advantage of the movable sleeves and put them in a more modest place, giving it a puffy sleeve effect on the shoulders, something Queen Margrethe loves. I went for one of my favorite necklaces, that if you look up-close, it has a handful of different-colored stones, among them some blue and purple ones which are a nice touch of color in a blue sea of fabric. I chose big diamond earrings to stand out a bit more since the dress is so simple. It is the jewels' time to shine (literally).
I went with a small handbag in white with gold details, again for the same reasons I chose the complex jewelry. And this is one of those very rare occasions where the sash looks great with the gown. It's so pleasant to look at, lol! I would love if we could have more sashes to go with our outfits. They don't even have to be real orders. I'd be pretty happy with freebie ones that no one cares about.
And for my last one I chose the every so iconic red Felipe Varela gown the literal Queen of Fashion, Letizia of Spain wore to a state banquet in the UK in 2017. I love everything about this gown. The sleeves, the shape, the hips, the lace, the details, everything. I absolutely love it to death. So, in this one, I went a little extreme on the jewels (as I always do because I suffer from a condition called THERE'S NEVER TOO MANY JEWELS), and I imediately went after this massive choker now recolored with ruby stones, perfect for this outfit. I got a floral brooch (more like leafy) with red buds or berries or whatever they are. They match the gown's design pretty well. I wore the same earrings and bracelet as before, and of course, the orders and finished the look with a red clutch.
I'm super pleased how the looks turned out. The tiara is so simple and versatile that with works with anything. I am forever grateful to Stardoll team for bringing this beautiful piece to us. YES, US! Because I've spotted many people wearing the tiara, a lot of my readers came to tell me they love it and that's wonderful. It comes to show that many people actually care about royalty, gowns and tiaras and we'd love more, wouldn't we? The tiara has been a success and I believe it ot be one of the most beautiful items to ever exist in this game.
OH! Before I forget, my next post will be a royal themed Q&A so that you can have an opportunity to ask me things you might be wondering about me, like who is/are my favorite royal(s), who are the royals I don't like, or which is my favorite tiara, favorite outfit, event, or how did I start loving royalty, why I am a monarchist or anything royalty-related you can think of!
I'm writing this just after tiara day (although I had planned to write it yesterday but I spent the day watching movies about Queen Victoria, since tiara day is actually her birthday, so I wrote it on Monday instead), and I want to know, how was your tiara day? Did you celebrate or do anything different? I watched The Young Victoria from 2009 and then Victoria & Abdul from 2017, two of my favorite movies about her.
