The Looking Back Look

hace 90 meses

Recently I've been experimenting with a new look for my doll - looking back! It's a simple technique that adds a whole new dimension to your suite. With a hat covering my doll's face, I can make it look like my doll is turned away from the screen.

This look is really simple if you want to try it out, and here's how to achieve it.

1. The hat. For my doll, I used the Charcoal Fedora from Minimalism, which covers the entire face, is versatile, and it's only 130 Starcoins! Make sure you don't actually put the hat on your doll, since then the face will peek through. Try placing the hat first, and then moving your doll underneath when you're ready.

2. The hair. You have a few options for hair here. You can create a Stardesign Hair piece to make it look like your doll has long, flowing hair beneath the hat. You could use a hairstyle with double pigtails or braids, or you could use the Horse Tails found in Decor, like mary_robbins. Try out a few different styles and see what you like.

3. The rest of the outfit. It can be tricky to find the right outfit to complete the look. Shoes are hard to work out, so I just hide the feet under the edge of the screen. The shirt should be fairly plain, no necklines or patterns to make it look like the front of a shirt. Some of my best bets have been the Striped T-Shirt from Fudge or the Vinyl Mock Neck A Line Dress.

Simple, inexpensive, unique - what more could you ask for?

I'd like to give mary_robbins credit for this idea; I saw it in her suite and was totally inspired, so check her out!

Is this a look you'd like to try?

Til next time!
